The 21st century has seen British citizens governed by two Labour government led by Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, a Coalition government between the Tories and the Liberal Democrats, and two Conservative governments led by David Cameron and Theresa May. 

The political landscape of the UK since the millennium has been colourful, often overshadowed by the wars in the Middle East (specifically in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria) and the refugee issues that these have created.

However, since the EU Referendum on June 23 2016, all political debate and  political party rhetoric has been dominated by Brexit.

There have been five general elections so far this century, but when the next one will take place and who will accrue the most seats in parliament is all up for speculation:
